Blenkinsop-Coulson Fountain (1914)
Sculptor: A. F. Rechberg

Location: Horatio Street, Newcastle. Materials: Bronze, Sandstone and Pink Granite. Status: Listed Grade II.

A larger than life portrait bust of William L. Blenkinsop-Coulson erected to mark his efforts to assist the weak and defenceless "among mankind and the animal world", standing above a pink granite plinth and two fountain bowls, one on the riverside a much larger one on the road side - one being for humans the other for animals. This originally stood in Percy Street before being moved to the Haymarket from where it was removed in 1950 to its present site to allow for traffic movement in the Haymarket.
